hello again self : )
this week was huge. I got back to basics with barre, toning, and cardio, as well as my own 10 minute Mix and Match videos. I took to the pool 2x, doing 20 full laps without stopping, to ease the soreness of getting back to the gym and to boost my cardio efforts.
I still have a visible, squishy shelf above my scar, but it seems to be going down daily. I had to try on jeans at Nordstrom on Thursday which forced some unpleasant dressing room mirror time, but was just the reminder I needed to stop snacking, drink more water, and stay consistent with working out. All day long I am taking care of my 4 little people, so feeling good in my own skin and fitting into my pre pregnancy wardrobe is the gift I am giving myself (well, that and new gray Paige jeans)!
Nutrition wise I am focusing on lemon water first thing in the morning to flush everything out, and green smoothies to get things moving! Here is the recipe I am using to feed my family of 6 (and our awesome au pair who gulps them down too!):
6 cups So Delicious Vanilla Almond Milk
2 cups spinach
3 stalks celery
10 baby carrots
2 frozen peeled bananas (I have a huge stash in my freezer, in zip lock bags)
3 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
1 generous scoop Vega vanilla protein powder
blended in my Vitamin- this starts everyone’s day off on the right foot. I make the batch the night before so I can concentrate on getting everyone dressed in the morning instead of fixing individual breakfasts. Travels well in soppy cups on the way to school too!
