Any mother who's prepared for a trip away from her little ones fears they will have nothing to eat but junk food. Call me neurotic or call me genius, but either way I'm making sure my children get their veggies in while I am away. Freezer smoothie packs couldn't be easier to prepare, and you can rest easy knowing you will come back to healthy, energetic, cavity-free kids (you're on your own with the disaster of a house though).
1 ziplock bag + following ingredients for each day you'll be away
1 scoop chocolate or berry flavored Amazing Greens powder (or your favorite organic, natural alternative)
1 banana, peeled
1 celery stalk
3 broccoli stalks
1/2 bag spinach or baby kale or both
1 child per bag
2 minutes in blender
Peel banana, add to bag
Cut broccoli into stalks, add to bag
Scoop powder into bag
Add spinach to bag
Write on bag: Add 1 cup coconut milk (or your choice of milky smoothie base)
Seal bag and place in freezer
Add smiley face so they can be completely certain you've gone off the deep end.
